GEOPROCESSING - Simplified Definitions

Geoprocessing
It's the set of computational techniques related with the collection, storage and treatment of spacial informations or georeferenced, to be used in specific systems to each application that, somehow, uses the geographic physical space. These systems can be: GIS, LIS, AM/FM, etc.
Georeferencied information have as main characteristic the localization, that is, is connected to a specific position of the globe through its coordinates.

GIS – Geographic Information Systems (technology)
GIS Technology uses a system composed by softwares and hardwares that are submitted to an organization of linked people for one same goal, whom are using georeferencied data to aim the possibility to plan and to monitor questions about the geographic physical space through the products generated for the system, that are digital files contend Maps, Graphs, Tables and conventional Reports.

System GIS
It's a computational system composed by softwares and hardwares, that allows the integration between alphanumeric data bases (tables) and graphs (maps), for the processing, analysis and exit of georeferencied data. The products created are digital files contend conventional Maps, Graphs, Tables and Reports.
